Michelle Delgado
2015 Graduate, American Studies & English Major, Historic Vienna
This internship allowed me to put my web skills to the test. I had spent the past few years studying Digital Humanities and tinkering with websites in my spare time, but this was the first time I was able to directly advise an organization about their web presence. I achieved a new design, both aesthetically and behind the scenes, that will help Historic Vienna draw in new visitors.
My internship with Historic Vienna challenged me to develop strong communication skills while working remotely.
At UVa, I studied everything from marketing for nonprofit arts organizations to the way databases function in Digital Humanities projects. This internship really gave me an opportunity to apply that knowledge, and I was especially glad to have a working knowledge of best practices in website design and marketing for nonprofits.
